Install App and Connect Repositories

This guide covers complete onboarding: app installation, repository activation, verification, and ongoing maintenance.

Before installation

  • Use a GitHub account with install rights on the target org.
  • Choose pilot repositories first before full rollout.
  • Assign one engineering owner for review rule quality.

1. Install the app

  1. Open the repositories area in Trevyn after signing in.
  2. Click the action to connect GitHub.
  3. Select the GitHub account or organization to install on.
  4. Grant repository access (selected repos is recommended first).
  5. Complete installation and return to Trevyn.

2. Connect and activate repositories

  1. Wait for repository sync to finish after install.
  2. Confirm expected repositories are listed.
  3. Set repositories to Active where reviews should run.
  4. Pause low-priority repos until your rules are tuned.
  5. Trigger one pilot pull request to validate behavior.

3. Verify integration health

  • Repository list matches your selected installation scope.
  • New pull requests appear in review history.
  • Review statuses move from pending to completed normally.
  • Suggestions include file references and clear actions.

Permission and access best practices

  • Grant minimum scope required for your review workflow.
  • Keep app ownership with platform or tooling maintainers.
  • Review repository access quarterly as teams evolve.
  • Revisit access immediately after org restructures.

Troubleshooting

  • Missing repositories usually means access was not granted.
  • Reconnect if setup was interrupted before completion.
  • If installation is linked to another account, remove and reinstall under the intended account.
  • If reviews do not appear, confirm repository is active and has recent pull request activity.
